What is now known as Babes on Beryl began with a chance connection between two strangers in a Facebook travel group. One posted about finding a fellow remote worker to explore San Diego with, and another answered. A quick FaceTime “vibe check” later, one booked a flight while the other packed up her car—and just like that, a friendship was born.

Their first week in San Diego set the tone: late nights out, discovering favorite neighborhoods, and realizing this was the city they both wanted to call home. When the timing aligned, one found an open room, the other moved in, and their shared life in San Diego officially began. Days filled with beach trips, reality TV marathons, and and ranting about life’s daily grievances solidified their friendship.

Over time, more friends joined in, turning a simple duo into a growing group. Today, Babes on Beryl isn’t just two women navigating life together, but a collective of women who share hot takes and a love for their coastal community.
